At Leeds Fire & Rescue, training is the foundation for everything we do. We have a training regimen that exceeds any ongoing training requirements for fire department personnel. Training at Leeds is conducted on a weekly basis and consists of apparatus training, EMS training, suppression activities, equipment training, and multi-company drills / scenarios. This training is designed to provide our fire personnel with the necessary skills needed to respond to any emergency. Check out our department training calendar (bottom of page) to see what training is on the horizon for Leeds.
In addition to our department training, we also provide a variety of Alabama Fire College Certification courses. These course are provided throughout the year and are open to any outside fire department personnel. If you are interested in attending one of our certification classes, please register with the Alabama Fire College.

In addition to apparatus and equipment training, physical agility training is essential to maintaining health and wellness of our firefighters.

Classroom education is also an essential part of fire personnel training. Through certification classes and department training we are able to provide the most knowledgeable fire personnel available.

Training through scenarios and drills can provide the confidence necessary to perform fire suppression activities.

From 10/20 thru 10/22 Leeds Fire & Rescue performed vehicle extrication training. Considering the amount of traffic that flows through Leeds, this training is invaluable! We would like to thank Burleson Towing & Recovery for providing the vehicles and lunch to our firefighters.
